Training
If during the consultation it is agreed that more intensive training is required, either my pack training days or a board-and-train will be recommended. At this point I will also discuss and demonstrate in person the additional tools and techniques used for this more intensive training, so my clients have a more comprehensive understanding of what is involved.
Pack Training Days
This is where I pick up the dog once a week (day dependent on location) and take it out on pack training days. The dog joins a pack and we go on structured training adventures in various locations, beach, forest, street walks, malls and sometimes more specific locations for more individual training. Covering a range of training needs depending on what each of the individual dogs require. By using a balanced pack, the dogs learn through social facilitation how to respond in sometimes stressful situations. Although there is a lot of structure, there is also a lot of time for energetic fun. Balance is key!
Board-and-Trains
This is where the dog comes to stay with me in my home to benefit from intensive training. This includes both 1:1 training and joining in on pack training days. By staying away from their normal surroundings, it is much easier for a dog to break old bad habits. Once the dog has decompressed into it’s new surroundings, boundaries and routines are much more easily implemented. At the end of a board-and-train the owners are given an extensive transfer training, where I teach the owners exactly what is required to continue on with the training in their own home. The finer details and duration of this service varies depending on the dog and owner.

We have a different dog!!
“We went from and over-protective, snappy, slightly aggressive dog to getting compliments in a dog park how well our viszla is trained. Training with Kristy made such a big difference in our dog’s behaviour and also our lives. Forever thankful”

Attentive, Skilled & Professional
“At 18 months old, our rescue dog, Kuini, became nervous and unpredictable around other dogs. Walking her was very stressful and we began to consider returning her to the shelter. But then we met Kristy! Straight away Kristy gave us confidence that we could help Kuini become a more relaxed and sociable dog.
A weekly pack was carefully chosen for Kuini to join for a day of socializing, training and playing. Along with this, we were given a suite of great training tools to support and sustain the progress Kristy was making with our puppy. Kristy was very patient with my questions and always reassuring about what we could achieve if we remained persistent and consistent. To this day we continue to use Kristy’s strategies with great results. We highly recommend her services”
